Yah!! It’s the most delicious time of year -SUMMER.

Ice cream and smores and watermelon – oh my! Yes yes yes, I love summer food. Nothing like enjoying some sweet bbq chicken, potato salad and fresh fruit all while running barefoot in the green grass and laughing till the summer sun sets.

For a few years I have been doing these watermelon sessions and they are always so much fun. Sticky and messy but so enjoyable.

Grab your little one or all the little ones, slice open a watermelon and let them enjoy getting messy. Not only will your photos be adorable but most of all your kids will have a blast.

If watermelon is not your child’s favorite – no worries. Let’s chat as I have a lot more fun and creative (and tasty messy) ideas.

There will be 2 days available  for watermelon smash sessions. To reserve your session date, session must be paid in full at the time of booking. Email me at Jackie@jax-creations.com with your desired location (Spirit Lake or Sandpoint) and time. Bring your kiddos, your slices of watermelon and a happy heart!

Session includes 5 digital images $175

Spending time with this family is always so enjoyable. Like really, really, really enjoyable. They never fail to have fun, smile and be themselves during a session.

Meet the C family.

They probably look familiar to you if you follow my blogs. I have actually known them since their oldest was a brand new baby. So it is always a treat to be able to visit with them and sit back and capture them all just loving on each other.

For their session, we spent most of our time at City Beach in Sandpoint Idaho. This evening we were happy to find that the beach was empty and quiet. This gave them all plenty of room to run, roam, scream, play, laugh and bury each other in the sand.

One of the many reasons why I really enjoy photographing this family is because they are REAL.  They are not afraid to show their true personalities, moods, or even their true feeling for each other. These two kiddos – brother and sister, get along so well and even hang around each other so nicely. They have moments just like any other siblings, but it is so refreshing to watch them play and love on each other.

Same goes for these two love birds.

This moment was the sweetest. Hubby grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes- and he like REALLY looked at her. His smile was so sweet and although I couldn’t hear what he was saying to her, you can not deny how much in love these two are for each other.

It has been such a blessing watching this family grow all together. I will never want to stop photographing them!!

June 6, 2017

When I had my last baby, I tried in every possible way to savior and cherish every little baby moment.  I knew he was my last and I tried to remember every day the best that I could in every sense I had.

One of my favorite things to do with my little one was to sit in a warm bath with him, letting him rest on my chest and watch his little toes floated in the water.

These days I am moping up splashed water and a tub filled with toys, but my memory of that special bonding moment is forever tucked away in my heart of memories. I only wish I took the time to ask my hubby to document just a moment of that memory.

Recently, a mom of a handsome baby boy contacted me for a mommy & me milk bath. I was so excited to be able to capture a mom share this moment with her little one.

Baby Eden is a handsome, chunky, BEAUTIFUL baby boy with eyes that connect to yours and hands that are curious to explore the world. Later, I found out that this was the first time that this momma has spent time with her little guy in the tub.

I filled the bath with my favorite bath mix from Bebe de Luxe and sprinkled some flowers and greenery in the water. Next, I sit back (in a non creepy way- lol) and capture some bonding moments between mom and baby.

Baby Eden was very curious about all the floating flowers and kept wanting to grab and chew on them. Which I don’t blame him. The bath mix from Bebe de Luxe is not only soft and lovely feeling, but has a great coconut flavor. And totally safe to ingest – just in case!

But the moment that tugged at my heart and get all weepy is the moment Eden needed a little moment to fill his tummy up.

Do you remember when you had to stop for a few moments and feed your little one? Do you remember how even though that moment was a force to make you stop and breath, it was the most beautiful moment of the day. It is like a reminder to stop in the busy of the world and focus on something so amazing that really no words can describe it. Something that can make your heart feel so many things and make you cry happy tears.

Baby Eden took every moment of the time he asked from his momma and brought her back to focus on just him. To have no worries of the world surrounding them. It was just her… and him.

I stood back for a moment to give them some personal space – to not feel that I was constantly there as a stranger with a camera. And then I witnesses it.

Love.

Eden reached up with his tiny chunky hand and gently touched his mom’s face. It was if he was telling her that all is right in the world as long as he was in her arms.

I have bottle fed and breast fed my babies – and it doesn’t matter the way you need to nourish your baby – what matters is you are letting them stop you from looking at the world around you and seeing this beautiful creature that was created just for you- in every perfect way God created.. in your arms, just focusing on you.

This milk bath session was so refreshing me to. It is so easy to get caught up in the same everyday life and even sometimes in the photo world. It blesses my heart when someone reaches out to me to capture a moment, a memory, a milestone and I just get to witness God’s amazing glory- all right in front of my lens!

As a mom of 5 kids, I know that moms everywhere imagine that they would love to spend Mother’s day all snuggled up in their bed with coffee, comfy pajamas, and the remote to the tv.. and food brought to us on demand. Possibly having the kids super quiet doing something productive with dad and no one leaving a mess behind for us to find and clean the next day. Even though that might seem like I just need a break from “mom”, I know that doesn’t mean I don’t love my family to pieces. In all the chaos, meltdowns, chores, laundry and long to do lists, I still cherish being able to celebrate the reasons why I love being a mom.

I want to document those reasons for you. I want to you have something that you can look back on and hear the laughter of your children or the sweet way they say, “I love you mom”. If you have older children or teenagers, I want to document these moments of you all having fun, being creative or just being together. Because there will be a time in your life where all is calm and quiet and you just crave to hear the word “mom” again.

Motherhood Session from Jax Creations Photography on Vimeo.

This Mother’s Day let’s celebrate those moms that are behind the scenes, behind the meltdowns and behind the messy lunches and put them in front of the lens. Glorify them and thank them for all they do, each and everyday. It’s easy to get lost in the chaos that life is.  Let me help you rejoice and be joyful for the wonderful world of motherhood that has been created for you. What better gift then one that can be cherished forever?

Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing women!

I am going to try to not get all sappy on you, but do you remember when your baby turned one? If you have not yet reached that stage yet, keep reading so you can be prepared!

It seemed that the fastest year ever in life is the first year of your baby growing. They learn and grow so fast and before we realize it, the sleepy baby that only would sleep when I was awake and treat me like a milk machine.. is now celebrating their first birthday.

This momma and little one came to see me to celebrate her first birthday, but instead of traditional cake, she brought alone a family favorite- DONUTS!

Oh- that sweet sugary doughy smell made me weak in the knees and for that whole time we were together for our session, I seriously considered to be in medical pain just to lick one of those donuts. At times, I have to admit, that yummy gluteny smell, distracted me. My little pudgy fingers wanted to wrap around that donut and hide in the corner to see how fast I could eat it before being caught. But…. I knew that even just one little taste would land me in tummy hell. So, I focused on this sweet little one that celebrated her awesome day with 12 glazed donuts.

Here is a sneak peek into our studio session.

Big brother was so good as he sat and watched sister eat her way to smiles. He was rewarded with choosing his own donut and in turn, he asked to have pictures of himself too! Gotta love a little one that enjoys the camera!
