If I had a list of the sweetest mommies… THIS mom would SO be on it. I love it when I have a mom come to see me, put her trust in me and we chat it up during the session, that it seems it was over way to fast!

When I met RiLynn’s momma- it was so much fun being able to chat the session away, enjoying the moments, and capturing some beautiful images!

For this session because sweet RiLynn had a big brother, we split up the session as a 2-part session. Sometimes a newborn session can get long and for a big brother or sister- long is just a keyword for “f o r e v e r” and the last thing I want is for mom to get stressed out or other little ones get bored and crazy lol. I believed this worked out perfectly for not only mom, but dad and brother too! We were able to take day1 and focus fully on mom and baby and then on day 2 we kept the focus on the boys!

Here is a sneak peek into our session.

There is something so sweet, so precious and simple as I capture little baby details. I love being able to see that fuzz. I want mom to be able to look back on these photos and remember when her sweet little one had fuzz. So when she closes her eyes she can remember the way it felt on her fingertips or as she gently kissed her ears and shoulders.

Every new mom that books a session receives a welcome box- filled with goodies. This momma got crafty on me and upcycled part of my packaging her a cute headband for her sweet package!

As a mom I am really bias on Mothers Day, but I have to admit.. Dad’s get the short end of the stick.

There are so many specials, deals, gifts, etc for moms on Mothers Day, but I feel that dad gets hung out in the mud. This year I would love to have the focus on that special dad.

Dads are the ones that rescue us moms from our kiddos, has that special dance with baby that instantly calms baby down, or plays in that special way that only dad knows how to. Celebrate dad- and all that AWESOME that he is.

I have not blogged in a LONG time Good news, I have been busy and just not have had the chance to really sit down and write. Things have been pretty darn crazy, but instead of editing tonight, I wanted to share some images from some recent sessions- because they are all so adorable and so sweet..

Baby K was such a great sleeper… so precious and sweet.

I think my fave part of our session was using the bed. Just a nice reminder that babies do what THEY want to. I gently laid him on the bed.. and he picked the way he wanted to rest.. with his sweet little leg hanging off the bed. It was just too sweet.

Ever have those days where you feel the need to organize yourself and office but even to GET there you need to organize stuff Before you can actually ORGANIZE?! That is my dad today. So far I was able to clean my C drive, move a *few* images to the server, clean out the filter for the washer (gross), try to eat something for lunch that tasted good (no luck), watch and freak myself out a little by watching American Horror Story, feed my kids, answer emails, get distracted with facebook…. I lost the train of thought just now of the point I was trying to make….. Oh yeah- organize. The things I want to accomplish today: more laundry (ugh), renew vehicle tags, grocery shop, look for a new website design, update website…..update all my *ahem* spending for the year, post office run, spend time with my kiddos and of course make dinner for the gang!

In between all these lists, I figured it was time to advert away from them and post some photo fun!!

Here is a sneak peek into Baby’s First Christmas event. Oh – MY- goodness.. I had SO much fun. Each baby was so stinken adorable and precious. I had the biggest headache after from smiling and laughing so much!! Take a peek!

Aren’t they just so cute?!! I think I will have to continue to do this EVERY year!!!

I love Christmas and everything it means. I love the smell of Christmas… and the crisp in the air. I love the times I get to do special things with my kids and surprise someone with a simple gift. I love that Jesus was born! I love Christmas!

The other day as I was cooking dinner and listening to my fave station on Pandora- Muppets Christmas, a song from Alvin and the Chipmunks came on and it suddenly brought me back to when I was a kid- laying on our maroon shag carpet- listening to The Chipmunks Christmas record. I can still hear the scratch and pop of the way the record player would play. I remember starring for ever at the album cover just admiring the cartoon… and I remember that silly hula hoop song lol.. Ok- did I totally just date myself??!!

This sweet momma is just an adorable ball of cuteness!! So sweet- so tiny- all baby! It took all that I had not to want to run up and rub her belly- it is just so cute!!

On our session day it was so cold. COLD. Did I say cold? But this sweet momma was wonderful- she kept smiling and loving on her sweet baby.

We had a moment of “oops” as the keys were locked inside the car- so our next location was a little delayed, but I love how things work out because it all worked perfectly and beautifully!

now, I have to {patiently} wait for baby to arrive. Till then, enjoy this sneak peek into our session

Sweet Baby Corrina | Dickinson ND Newborn Photography

” first we had each other, then we had you and now we have everything”

oh sweet baby Corrina. I truly fell in love with you the moment I met her. Her daddy told me I would. In fact, he told me I needed to sit down before I get to see her because she is THAT amazing. And how right he is!

Such a tiny little peanut with SO MUCH hair. I couldn’t stop touching it. It was hard to not just cuddle with her and softly brush my cheek against her tiny head of hair. Oh- she is such a doll!

One of the many things I love about my *ahem* “job” is I get to witness true love- true emotions. This new mom and dad were amazing. Looking at them you would think that they had only been married for a day! The love, trust and respect that oozed out of them was just heart warming. You could see them fall in love over and over again each time they looked at each other and their sweet baby girl. How amazing is that?!

Photography is more of a womens thing- but every once in a while I get to meet an amazing dad who is just into their session as their girl. I am a sap when a guy is touched with emotions. Back in the day when I did weddings, if I saw the groom start to get teary-eyed- oh man- it was over for me.. I was crying like an idiot. When a dad gets to see his child through my lens- through my heart and he is touched by it- that to me is the BIGGEST reward I could ever ask for. Corrina’s dad gifted me with that during our session.

I loved how simple and clean and fresh this session was. Here is a peek inside our newborn session!

Fall Family | Dickinson ND Child Photographer

Fall. Oh man, it is so beautiful this year here. Yesterday I sat under the tree and let the warm breeze seriously just touch my soul. But, unfortunately the most beautiful season seems to be the shortest one.

This beautiful family was able to schedule their session in the perfect bloom of fall colors. I was lucky enough to go to a special location and capture all the fun. There will be another post tomorrow on this special momma, but today- this is all about the kiddos!

Sweet lil A is turning one so we made sure we focused on her.. but she has some spunky fun brothers that kept me on my toes and schooled me on scary pumpkin mean faces lol.

This adorable couple have to be the most fun couple ever!! They each have such wonderful personalities that you can just see how wonderful their new baby is going to be!

We all first met during our client consultation during this momma’s pregnancy- and I have to admit I have never seen a dad so excited about his new baby. This little girl is going to have an amazing childhood lol.
