The last few weeks I had left in Idaho was crazy and busy. I am so behind on my blog posts but hopefully between my daily list of changing diapers, feeding baby, chasing a toddler, collecting dust bunnies, picking up AGAIN from 5 kids and a husband, washing 6 loads of laundry, pay bills, pee, again change daipers and feed hungry kids…. I can catch up on my blog.

I don’t know about you, but I am exhausted….

This special client has an awesome story on how we met. Funny actually. I was able to talk hubby into going to The RoadHouse for dinner one night (my fave place). We were sitting there and I spotted a baby bump. Of course I didnt have cards on me and it’s against my inner balls to actually introduce myself to someone to tell them I want to take their photos. But hubby asked our waitress to see if that cute baby bump would come over to talk to us for a sec. We all couldn’t not stop talking that night- in fact they had to kick us out because they were closed lol. I left that night so excited that I met a new friend. I was giddy!!

I couldn’t wait to do her maternity photos and my heart was so filled with happiness on her daughter that she is soon to have!!

Here is a sneak peek into our session

** F, I am SOOOOOO happy for you and was there to rub your belly and meet this beautiful miracle baby- loves!! **

Nothing is as precoius as meeting a brand new baby!!!!!!! I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing new babies.

I had the pleasure of photographing this little baby as she welcomed herself into the world :)

I am so excited to be able to photograph this momma again who is expecting her SECOND baby.. at this point I do not know who is more ready to see baby- me or her. hmmm Ok, well since I recently had my baby I can say as much as I LOVE little babies, pregnancy was not “peachy” and I can probably bet that this momma is thinking she is MORE than ready to be done!! So, ok, momma- you win ;)

I seriously thought this week wouldn’t end… ok and I feel like these next 2 weeks are never going to come and end either.. I guess that is what happens when you are watching the calendar and clock for D DAY! As of today I have 11 days left of carrying this baby in belly. I can not express enough to you how excited I am to just hold this little miracle. Time really can not come fast enough.

Friday was my last Sun Kissed Summer Mini Session… and I have to say, it was a lot of fun seeing everyone and capturing those cute images. I hope you are not bored with seeing more, because I have this one more session to share!!

I first met this little guy when he was just a newbie.. and NOW look at him- such a big- happy- boy. And his beautiful momma is expecting another one.. YAH!! I can’t wait to meet this little one she is growing. I am hoping it will be a girl!

Here is a sneak peek into our session~

Check out this watermelon. Talk about playing with your senses. Or at least it did mine. Completely opposite on the outside and the inside YELLOW. Every time I looked at it, my mouth watered thinking it tasted like something tropical like pineapple but no joke, it tasted JUST like a normal pink watermelon! I still can’t get over it

* J & R- thank you so much again for coming to see me. I truly enjoy you all and hope to be able to see you again once baby is born :) I hope the rest of the summer is nice to you!! And lil man C- Thank you so much for all the smiles you gave me. *

The Bump | My Maternity Session

Posted on August 19, 2011

After months and months of *ahem* certain friends hounding me for some belly pictures, I decided to pucker it up and have a friend finally do some maternity photos for me. The first try, I totally wasn’t feeling up to it but soon another day came where I was feeling a little more “normal”. So I got myself dolled up- as much as I could, squeezed myself into SOMETHING that didnt totally expose my belly, gave my friend a good warning and off we went.

**** Ok, let me explain a little something about myself- for those who don’t know me too well…. I LOVE living out here in Sandpoint Idaho. I love the beautiful scenery we get all year long, the weather (for the most part) and I love raising my family here. BUT…. Here is my BIG but…. I am NO outdoorsy girl. I like to pretend I am… meaning I like to fish as long as I don’t have to put the worm on or go out in a tiny boat, I like hiking as long as I am not alone and with someone that can either fit or kill a bear, dear, turkey or cougar, and I love sitting in the grass as long as I am in a chair and the bugs leave me alone. You will NEVER find me rolling the grass, climbing trees or even remotely touching one or wadding in ANY lake water. Now, back in the day when I was younger, SURE, I would be all about getting dirty and not being scared of anything, but I am older and wiser and I would rather stay clean and away from bugs, dirt, sticks, spiders and such. So I gave my warnings and my DO-NOT do list to my friend and I honestly think at first she thought I was joking.. oh no my friend.. See, that is the wonderful thing about being a photographer and NOT a “model”. I get to tell other people what to do- usually the things I would never do… and THEY DO IT!!! So basically you can call me a “stick in the mud model”.

As we got to our location, we played and had some fun. I couldn’t believe how hard it is to be on the other side of the camera. I felt so UNCOMFORTABLE. Of course on the inside with my other personality I wanted to be this ROCK STAR model but who am I kidding- that is not me and NEVER will be me. Every chance I could I would look away from the camera- this chick right here was trying hard to avoid that profile pic. YUCK!

….. Before I knew it…. it was that time.. time to lay down in the grass.. ACK!!! I probably shot her a few ugly faces with that suggestion but I warned her… so I plopped my big ‘ol bum down in the dry grass- just looking to make sure there was NOTHING crawling around to come get me. So in between spiders, bugs, sticks and goose poop, we found a spot. It felt like an eternity sitting there. My whole body starting to itch and crawl. yeah, again… so much rather be behind the camera!

In the end I am so happy that my friend put up with my whining and crying about bugs and such. Overall I am really glad she forced me to get out and do these. I am sure one day I will look back and think that I actually didn’t look like the 500 pound woman I felt that I was.

So, you wanna see??

This momma is so AMAZINGLY beautiful.. inside and out.. she has the sweetest hubby who just ADORES her and she little princess is just as amazing as her momma.

I was so excited when I found out L was expecting another baby. I couldn’t wait to see her growing belly :) … it was just as I pictured it- perfectly round and …beautiful.
For a moment I was a little jealous that I never had a perfect belly like that, but its ok.. I got over it- and I still adore her!

Check out how beautiful she is- being one with mother nature here in Idaho

Babies babies everywhere… or soon to be everywhere!! Which I am ALL for!! I love those little babies.

Meet momma C. Not only is she a good friend of mine :) but she is super sweet, caring, loving and beautiful… and she has a little daughter that I could just eat up!!

When momma C got pregnant, she kept telling me that she was without actually SAYING “i’m pregnant”. I am actually AMAZED on how long it took me to figure it out! sometimes I am just that slow! But once the light bulb in my head turned on – I was so excited for her!!! She is such a great momma!

Momma C is one of those beauties that care about YOU. Its so nice having those kind of friends in your life. OH! She is also a consultant of the fabo products Pink Papaya. You should check out these products and then call her to stock up!!!!

So here is my lovely friend and her soon to be here baby. Congratulations C! I cant wait to meet the new little one!

Momma R | Sandpoint Maternity Photographer

It’s not that I have been slacking.. in fact that is quite the opposite. Not to whine, but I have had some pretty sick kiddos here at home. Let’s just say I was starting to get worried that the ER docs would think I had that munchausen syndrome! All of my kids (minus one) has been to the ER within a full week. Poor doctor Deland walks in the room at the check-ups with a not so happy face that I am there AGAIN… needless to say, I have not had much time to blog like I like to!

But on to momma R :)

When she called to schedule her session and I learned she was having TWINS, I actually did a little dance in the kitchen. Thank GOODNESS no one was home! Otherwise they would have had a very interesting show. Lets just say I resembled Elaine from Seinfeld!

I was stoked to see momma R and to this day, I cant WAIT to meet her BOYS!!! We had a great session and she was such a great model. I try not to make my moms move too much but sometimes I just get too excited! Even her hubby was a GREAT sport! Momma R brought along her own momma, and she too was a big help. She was like my own personal studio stylist. I could have gotten used to that FAST!!!

So Finally… I would like to share with you my sneak peek of this beautiful momma.. And look at her belly!! For a momma with TWO, her belly looked AWESOME!!
