…Fun in the Tub!

I think this is one of my fave sessions to date! This is baby T and Mr. D.

This beautiful mom is a VIP and a client from my ‘My Life Collection’ – which is 5 sessions and lots of goodies! This was Miss T’s 3 month session and to give it a mix, we decided that doing 3 months would be better at home. And I am SO glad we did. We did her newborn session at her home in the beginning and I loved that we did that. She has AMAZING natural light and huge HUGE windows that I would like to adopt.

When I arrived Miss T was still napping so I got to play a little with Mr. D. He showed me all his toys and his precious trains and even taught me how they REALLY work. Just in case you didnt know, there is a right and wrong way to aet up tracks and ply with trains!

dylan

After we exhusted the trains and train sound effect books, we headed up stairs to play……more TRAINS!!!! LOL But in the midst of cleaning up he climbed up on his swing….. *a-hem.. yes a SWING inside their home. Heck, by now I wanted to move in!!

At first D just sat there and begged me to push him… he had me rolling my folding his hands together and BEGGING me to push him! Finally mom came to the rescue.

After our playtime, I had to say those words to mom that one never wants to hear… ” let’s wake baby!” I know, I know- evil I am, but that girl was SLEEPING a looooong time. I think she knew I was coming and was buying her time away from me!

At first we had a great time playing on the floor and making faces…and of course trying on some cute outfits! Man, playing dress-up with her made me want a little girl SO bad. All those cute bathing suits, shoes, tights, ribbons and PINK!!!

And because mom had an awesome house… it included an AWESOME bathroom. I actually had my eye on it since our newborn session and the idea of bath time. It just worked out perfectly this time to use it. So we filled it up and jumped in.. well- they jumped in. I stayed dried and kept making goofy sounds!

The bath photos are so much fun! And LOTS of laughs and BUBBLES! Got to have bubbles! I think everyone should do a bubble bath session! OHHHH that gives me an idea.. I should make hubby build me a custom bubble bath-room!!! I personally think its a great idea… not sure if he will think the same!!

Anywho… these are my face photos. Such a great time!

I want to remind you all, to never under-estimate the beauty of your own home. You may think that you dont have much to offer in your home, but having someone else come in and capture YOUR life as it happens… you will LOVE it!!

To do something little bit different and fun, I wanted to start “interviewing” my moms (and dads too) on life as a parent. Here is our “INTERVIEW”

What is your fave part of motherhood? Watching each moment they grow. Each milestone they reach. And who couldn’t love hearing their child they  created tell you that they love you” Awww- I couldn’t agree more :)

The funniest thing D (Dylan) has said. (oh, too many to remember on the spot) but he says this all the time..  “Mom?”, (i say “what”) “I have an idea” (i say “what” again, or “you do?”.) “YEAH!, ME!”………..and whenever my dad says “peanutbutter” to him he always says “butt” after….. also when something stinks he says its “peupity”….. and when he couldn’t say cooper (the dog) he would call him “Chewpee”

Your fave song that you all sing and dance around to at home? “big band swing” by the swingfield big band or  Mamma Mia! sound track

What is the best part so far of having a 3 month old baby girl? Her full on biggest smile I’ve ever seen – you can’t not smile when you look at her. Makes me feel giddy in side. And her turning over onto her tummy for the first time.

What is the hardest part of being a mom of 2? Being home with them by myself while my husband is gone working, usually out of state, on a job and them missing him and having my son asking to see him, knowing we can’t. Also traveling many many hours in the car or plane to go see daddy, that always takes a toll on me and the kids..but worth it in the end.

What is  your FAVE memory of when YOU were a little girl? probably going to Disneyland/Disneyworld growing up and riding in the wagon pulled by my brother on the little 50 motorcycles and swinging in the hammocks (doing full circle loops in them).

How do you and your hubby make time together? (when he’s home or i go see him). its either when the kids are busy playing and distracted. or during nap time.. or bedtime.. sometimes we ignore them, if they don’t reallllly need our full attention and are safe where they are at the moment.

* A, T, and D… thank you so much for inviting back into your home. I always have such a great time with you all. I hope you enjoy your photos are much as I have!!**

Jack Jack!

(I just love that name!!!)

It was time to once again enjoy the sunshine with a family outdoor session. We first had to reschedule due to that nasty rain we were having but it was finally the sun’s turn to come out to play!!

This family took a long drive to play in the grass with me and view some beautiful North Idaho surroundings! Of course I was just tickled with lil Jack- being himself. I love being outdoors with all these wonderful and super nice families!!!

Fave part of being a mom? My favorite part of being a mom is all the surprise loves Jack gives to me and how amazingly smart he seems as he learns new things.

Hardest part being a mom? My biggest challenge being a mom so far has been the commitment to breastfeeding and along these same lines having NO time alone to get things done or just chill. It is well worth it for above reasons.

The funniest thing that has happened to you as mom? Jack is a funny little guy. He is constantly doing things that are funny. One that directly involves being mommy: I walked into day care and they said to him “who’s here?” and without skipping a beat he gave the sign for milk.  Another topper is the day he scowled at me because I was asking him to stop doing something he  wanted to do. The look he gives is hilarious and very difficult to not give him reinforcing feedback, either copying him or laughing. Another is when he started dancing when he was first standing up to furniture and he would shake his booty when music came on

The best advice you were ever given to deal with parenthood? Best parenthood advice had to hit me over the head by many people. It was to take the time to enjoy Jack now and slow down. For me this meant making more personal sacrifice of not working as much. This also made drastic changes in our money budget, but great advances for our family and Jack.

Favorite memory of YOU as a kid? My favorite childhood memories are of family time fishing and camping.

** J&K – Thanks so much for coming all the way out here to see and play with me. It was a pleasure meeting you all and capturing your photos!!**

All you friends and family of Jack… leave mom a comment on here and she can earn a gift certificate just for HER!

Me | A Mothers Note

Posted on June 29, 2010

One of my MOST FAVE people in the world is Plumb. I actually had a chance to meet with her when I was able to attend the MOPS convention… I am one of her biggest fans!!!

The thing that makes me like her so much is her love for her children and how REAL she is. This woman is beautiful inside and out..

One of her songs, “ME”, is a gentle reminder to myself that being a mom is a tiring job, but one of the most rewarding and loving jobs out there..

Here are the lyrics and if you get a chance, Google the song so you can hear it.. Then read up and purchase her music. She is AMAZING!!!

I haven’t had
A chance to sleep
And when I wake
I wake with your dreams
I guess my pillow
Holds some kind of key
To your peace
Your peace

Me
I wouldn’t trade your love for all the candy
In this great big world
Me

I feel so crazy blessed and oh so lucky
To be the place you go
When you need to feel safe
When you need a kiss
It’s me

I haven’t showered
And I tried to eat
But all your tears
Oh they needed me
I need some time, some time to think
But then I hear you
And what you need is…
Me

I wouldn’t trade your love for all the candy
In this great big world
Me
I feel so crazy blessed and oh so lucky
To be the place you go

I wash your face
To make room for
All the kisses
Of tomorrow
And every day
That I get to
Be here with you
Is sweet

Me
I wouldn’t trade your love for all the candy
In this great big world
Me
I feel so crazy blessed and oh so lucky
To be the place you go
When you need to feel safe
When you need a kiss

Oh don’t be afraid
Cause what you’ll have is….
Me

So I am in the midst of my editing of the last wedding we shot. One of my fave parts of going thru the images and finding the ones that are just “priceless”…. of course those do not include the Bride & Groom- it’s almost ALWAYS photos of my team working! Sometimes its just funny… and sometimes…. well.. lets just say those photos get to meet my delete button FAST!

Being a photographer is a wonderful “job”…. It suits me well because I am so happy and comfortable being BEHIND the camera… but it seems that my hubby sneaks in photos when I just don’t expect it.

Here is a sneak peek of us “working”

This is Angel. She is the sweet -always happy one- of the group! So cute she is!

I got sucked in again!!  Sucked in again to a new blog… I feel that we are lucky to have something as powerful as the internet at our fingertips, but it does not help me in my daily adventures of house cleaning… but the good news for me is – I have kids :)

Check out this new blog I found: http://www.simple-momreviews.com/2010/06/epiphanie-you-will-want-them-all.html

and if you are a photog- check out their give-a-way today.. I WANT that bag!!

leave a comment for your chance to win this book!!

Life's too short

Big picture thinking means investing your time and yourself in what really matters. Steve Diggs recommends making changes toward living a Big Picture Life one small step at a time. There are seventy short chapters in this book, each stressing a step toward living a Big Picture Life such as, Choose God Confidence Over Self Confidence. That one’s a winner. Or how about Having a Thank You, Lord, Heart? Or Start Small If You Have To, But Start.

This is a great book for those times when you don’t have enough time. It only takes a couple of minutes to read one chapter and be refreshed. This one’s a keeper.

From the corner of his eye, he spotted me. “baby, she is not a doll. Quit playing dress up”!

I was in shock that he would even say that… but truth was… I was having a blast! my “little” girl was all dressed up and so not into MY style of fun! I couldnt help but to “play” with this little doll. Her curls had me melt into a pile of mommy goo… so I couldnt help but to break out my camera and just have some fun… just because!!

And she did such a great job as I dragged her all over my yard to “play” :) Thanks sweet little M- you are such a beautiful girl!!!

A new baby is like the beginning of all things – wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

Author: Eda J LeShan

Meet sweet baby Calvin.

This baby was getting ready to walk into a HUGE mess in the studio- I had an idea that I wanted to create, but I am not a very organized housekeeper. I wanted to create a woodland scene for a baby… it just happened to work out so fast. With the amazing help from Petal Talk I was able to make my creation….and I was FLOORED when I found out that this mom and dad are not only big North Idaho fans, but dad also is a Forester for the ID Department of Lands – it was all just meant to be!!!

5812

This beautiful family traveled all the way from Priest Lake to come see me… which made me feel so special- thank you guys! I was so worried by the time they got to the studio, the little guy would so not be into sleeping. I had mentally prepared for an awake baby!!

I couldnt stop “ooh-ing” and “awww-ing” at him. And yes.. I held him every chance I could. He was just so sweet and so perfect and WOW so aware of things around him! At just 17 days old…. I was just impressed with this little guy!

Mom and dad wanted some pictures of him awake…so that is what we started with :) but I think he gave in before we did.. he was ready for his snack and ready to go back to sleep. And sleep he did!!

….Here is a sneak into our session…..
