Jason & Heidi | Engagement Sneak Peek
Saturday I got to hit the streets with this fun couple!! I am sure there were moments where they thought I was just a little coo-coo but I am ok with that
I am doing their wedding in September and I am so excited to be a part of it. J&H have such great personalities and the location sounds just beautiful so I can not wait. Keep your eye out – we will be doing more pictures till the BIG day!!
J&H- thank you so much for letting me be YOUR photographer. I am really looking forward in capturing more moments between you two. I had a great time and hope that you did as well.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE getting these babies in the studio. I cant get enough of them. I dont want to sound greedy, but give me more
I got to meet sweet and WIDE AWAKE Mr. O. I was super impressed on how awake he was. He seemed to be so interested in what was going on around him that sleep was NOT an option. Mr. O was just great to see and play with. He did not fuss until he was ready to stop. And his beautiful momma was a joy to talk to as well. Some of you might know her from St. Knox Academy. I couldnt believe all the things they do there. Hopefully this summer/ fall we can get our wild one to go there!!
Here is Mr. O’s sneak peek. Have I mentioned how sweet he was?! Lovin’ those tiny baby parts!!
OH man- I found my newest obsession. In fact I cant get enough of it and I sadly try to plot ways to get it as often as i can.
what is it you ask?? Hhehehehe I feel silly sharing, but I am pregnant and determined and when i find something yummy I cant break free from it till my belly tells me too
Yup, its true. I will confess I am addicted to MCD Sweet Tea. Maybe its my southern taste buds talking or the fact that I have not had it in FOREVER- i dont care what any once calls it actually – i am in LOVE. My other confession- i actually have a process in the way that I get my tea. Right now you can get a Big Gulp size Tea for only $1 Yahoo!! So i get 2 of them. One with ice to enjoy now
and one witout ice that is filled ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP, to enjoy later at home LOL. Is that sad??
I guess the addiction could be worse. I just know Charley is grateful that we dont live in town.
But, you anyone stops by for any reason, you would be my bestest friend in the whole wide world if you brought me a sweet tea
(just kidding- i already like you!)
{ FAIL }
OK #1 I actually totally dislike that word. Its a computer worker word that I hear WAY too much around here but its the only word I could come up with after watching HOlly dance on Dancing With The Stars. OhMigawd – PEOPLE- c’mon!!! Seriously – WHY is she still on. She is a horrible dancer. Is she only on because she looks hot?? please dont tell me that is the reason. All they are talking about are her boobs. Its making me CRAZY!!!! I know there are many other important things in life to talk about but at this moment I am being lazy, eating some yummy cake and watching my fave show and she jsut BUGS the crap out of me. I am sure she is a nice sweet gal, but lets get some good dancing going on… I know what they need…… I need to do this show!! Ok that would be kick ‘donkey’ to do that! I dream of being on that show and ending the season with a hot body like all the girl dancers. LOL a girl can dream right???
Ahh… I have been waiting for a day like this since…… January. It was absolutely beautiful outside. So as any good mom would do- I sent the kids outside to play. For those of you who have been by our house lately you have seen the nice lake we have in our driveway. Now, let me tell you a story first before I get to my spring day.
Now, we have this “lake” in our driveway – we call it Lake Charlebois. The water seriously came up OVER your shoes. So not only do your shoes get soaked but also your pants. Its just a bad day. Well charley had dug a ditch to try to get the water flowing into the drain but no such luck. It was clogged and the poor guy couldnt get it fixed. So now we have this “lake” and a ditch in the driveway.
Now, I am just gonna say that I am not the brightest light bulb in the box lately. I will just blame that on the pregnancy. I was coming home one night with the kids in the car and it was dark and i wanted to park as close as i could to the door so we did not get all nasty. Well, my daughter warned me that i was getting close to the ditch. You see where i am going with this??? I responded back with, “no, I am ok – trust me” TRUST ME??? Who Am I KiDDinG?! I cant trust myself to just walk across the room right now without bumping into something or tipping over! Well as soon as i said that – the right side of car fell INTO the ditch. Both tires. I tried getting out myself, but I had no luck. I had to call Charley to come get me. That is a phone call i just did not want to make. I am still hearing about the time I slide into our fence! I knew that I would NEVER hear the end of this one. But I must say, it was talent of how i got the car stuck!
Of course he got me out and i felt foolish, but – oh well!
Ok so back to our lake.. So yesterday he called me outside to come look at it and to my surprise, the “lake” was gone! He finally was able to unclog the drain and all the water went away. It was so nice to walk in our driveway without thinking you needed a row boat!
The kids had a great time playing in the mud riding their bikes. It was so nice having them play outside in that wonderful weather. I can not WAIT for spring to get here and stay! I long to see grass again and to finish our playground! i can deal without seeing the potato bugs and carpenter ants again but if that is what it takes for spring to come- bring it on!!
With the nice weather we were blessed with yesterday, I woke with energy that I have not had in a LONG TIME. I actually spent 5 hours cleaning my house. I like it only took me that long because, well, I am slow and not that graceful anymore
But I was so proud of myself for cleaning. I hope i get to enjoy it for at least a day or two. Wish me luck! After my cleaning spree, I even baked a cake!! Only thanks to my SIL who shared a piece with me the other night and I couldnt get the craving out of my head. But its gooood!!!
Well Hopefully we will have a nice day today and maybe a nice week to come. I hope you had a nice spring day yesterday!
Unfortunately neither one of the boys placed in the race, but Charley *ahem* I mean Matty, won a widdle trophy for most aerodynamic.
Next event – the boat race
{ Another Gift From God }
This past weekend I got to meet another Matthew – which means ‘ A gift from God’. Now, I only know that because I have a Matthew. This Matthew was a cutie and friendly. Mom and dad said that he usually takes a while to warm up to someone but on this day, we didn’t seem to have any problems – which is always a good thing. He has a super cute smile and I was shocked when I saw the teeth he has at 6 months. Poor little guy was acting like he was teething again because he wanted to chew on EVERYTHING. Once he got a hold of something for his mouth, he tried his best to get a good chunk out of it LOL
Check out his sneak peek. And keep a look out to see more of this little guy. He is one of my Babe’ Me members!!!
Mom and dad – it was really nice meeting you all. I had a great time “playing” and cant wait for our next session
I hope you enjoy!
Yesterday was my daughters bday…. although we had a wonderful day together shopping, eating and just being together, it was an eye opening to me that she was no longer the little girl I remember. She is growing more and more each day- just before my eyes.
I remember the day she was born. I was so full of excitement to finally hold this little girl I dreamed about. She has this AMAZING hair that was jet black and – no kidding- she had streaks of blonde which looked like custom highlights. The nurses have never seen anything like that before. I knew I had a pretty special kiddo.
She is a special kiddo but also learned through the years that we are TOO much alike – which doesnt neccesarily work too well together. For this reason, its a good thing we have daddy. Lilly is a person that is smart, creative, dramatic, loving, caring, funny, and beautiful inside and out. She has a huge heart and I love her so much. I know that the years to come will be difficult but I am preapred to tackle them
I have to keep telling her that no matter what she has done, I have already done it – so it would be a waste of her time to try to get away with stuff. Now, I would LOVE to believe that she knows that or will hear that when she makes the choice to do or not to do something, but only time will tell on that one!
The other day I went through some old pictures and videos and was washed away by memories of her and I. Now, granted, there were some pretty difficult times *ahem – like 3 years old * but overall, she is and always will be my Lilly Bug
Take a trip down memory lane with me …
Well one of my favorite little buddies, is all grown up. Well grown up to the age of 1. That was a fast year. He is so stinken cute and just loves his FABO parents. I get all excited when I know tehy are coming. They are all so full of energy and so wonderful to be around. It will be sad not to see them as often as I have.
During our session we are all jammin’ out to Go Fish which if you have not heard of them or the songs, you need to go visit their site.
Check out my lil Max guy!!
Today I’d like to welcome author and speaker, Jill Savage. Jill’s recent book Real Moms…Real Jesus, just released, and I wanted to ask her about her real mom moments..Jill, tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
Mark and I have been married 25 years and we have five children. Anne is 24 and married to our wonderful son-in-love, Matt. Evan is 21 and married to our beautiful daughter-in-love, Julie. Erica is 18 and a college student at Heartland Community College. Kolya is 15 and in the 8th grade. We adopted Kolya at the age of 9 from Russia—the God story about his adoption is included in the Real Moms…Real Jesus book. And Austin is 12 and in the 7th grade.
Tell us about your newest book Real Moms…Real Jesus?
Real Moms…Real Jesus is a book designed to help moms understand that when Jesus lived on this earth he was fully God, yet fully man. We don’t often think about the fact that he was a human being and he lived the full human experience: pain, hunger, fatigue, frustration, betrayal, disappointment. He experienced it all!
There’s one verse in the Bible about Jesus that simply says “large crowds followed him everywhere he went.” Well, isn’t that the life of a mom? Large crowds follow her to the bathroom. They follow her to the kitchen. To the grocery store. She’s in high demand! And when Jesus lived on this earth, He was in high demand, too.
Why did you want to write this book?

Most of us long for a friend who understands. Yes, we need girlfriends who understand what our life is like. But we also need to understand that we have a friend who understands in Jesus. Too many of us think of God as being distant and unable to relate to our daily struggles. But nothing could be further from the truth! He understands and he wants us to build our friendship with Him. He wants to not only be our Savior, but also our Friend.
What do you hope your readers will gain from this book?
I hope that readers will gain a new perspective about their relationship with Jesus. I also hope to weave God’s truth into the daily life of a mom.
What unique elements will the reader find in Real Moms…Real Jesus?
Each chapter looks at some character trait in Jesus’ life that can help us in our life as a mom. In between the chapters are interactive vignettes that provide brief, refreshing glimpses into our real, messy, busy lives.
There are also questions at the end of the chapter for further consideration and suggested Bible reading in the book of Matthew. If the reader chooses to pursue the suggested reading, she will have read the book of Matthew completely by the end of the book!
There is also a leader’s guide in the back of the book so it can be used in a group setting.
This is a Hearts at Home book. What is Hearts at Home?
Hearts at Home is an organization that encourages, educates, and equips women in the profession of motherhood. Hearts at Home encourages moms through annual conferences, our extensive website (www.hearts-at-home.org), a free bi-weekly electronic newsletter, a radio program, and an entire line of books designed to meet the needs of moms all over the world!
Any closing thoughts?
I am very excited about this book! I believe that if a mom can strengthen her relationship with Jesus Christ, she will feel more equipped to be the mom she wants to be. I’m also offering an online book discussion on my blog beginning Tuesday, April 7. If you’d like to join us, you can subscribe to my blog at www.jillsavage.org.
I’d love to hear a reader’s thoughts after they read the book, too! You can connect to me through my blog at www.jillsavage.org.
Thanks, Jill, for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your real mom, real Jesus moments with us.
