It’s Play Time

I am suppose to be editing some photos from a wedding and thanking God right now that my couple is still honeymooning because I get to sit here right now and watch 2 of my kids play together. And for today at this instance they are getting along together so well. Of course my daughter is still the one in charge but today she is being nice.
They decided to play Ratatoulie where she is the waitress and of course the BIG BOSS and Matty is playing the rat and Lugine. They are making orders and spending money. My daughter – the natural drama queen is suppling all the noise effects that goes along with running a kitchen as well as the facial expressions you see on the hard working waitresses. This girl can ACT!!
It is so interesting watching the kids play together and what they can do with thier imagination. I miss being a kid. I miss being able to dream up and actually “see” the world I was creating. HEheheh ok so now she is barking off instructions on what to do and say to her brother. ” ok now yell out at me ‘ WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG’ ” And the good brother that he is, he is following every command that she wants.

The joys of being a child.

Lord, I pray that you dont let this world make them grow up too fast. Let them enjoy the gift of childhood.

AMERICAN IDOL SING-OFF

Oh man.. my Tivo is on and I would love to say that I am sitting in front of the big screen tv eating some buttery (and fatting) popcorn and drinking a cold Coke, watching the show down between the David’s but in all honestly, I do have my Tivo on, I did eat a fatting sugar cookie ( it was really good) and i am finishing up my Coke, but I am in the middle of my editing and once in a while sneaking a peek at the tv. I only have a few minutes till the hubby gets home and starts making fun of my obsession this year with the show and then i will have to turn it off and return to being a mom and putting the kids to bed.

I cant wait to see who will win. I HOPE its David COOK! Tomorrow I will be hosting an American Idol party and of course you all are welcome! Just make sure you bring a snack to share with us!

P.S. I Love You

My new favorite movie. Now I am a sucker for love stories especially ones that have to do with memories with a true love. For a long time my fave love story was Love Story. I cried like a baby watching it – got addicted to everything about it from reading the book to listening every day to the soundtrack. A few years ago, my new fave was Moulin Rouge – LOVE IT!!! Again that too became an addiction. In fact I still dance along with BOTH the soundtracks. Then came The Notebook. Awww I LOVE this movie. Everything about it. One of my fears is losing all my memories. So watching this really touched me.

but….

the other day Charley brought home a new movie P.S. I Love You, I have been wanting to see it for a while and yesterday I was able to watch it – all by myself. And that is a good thing too because I was an emotional fruit cake! Between the tears there was laughter but this movie was just awesome. Man, I felt like I personally was going thru what she was. Made me want to rush into my hubby’s arms and never let him go. Also wanted me to get back to my fun self. Back to making those fun ever lasting memories.

There was a line in the movie where Kathy Bates ( who plays the mom ) told her daughter (Hillary Swank) that her husband always made her laugh. The daughter looked at her like she was insane and said ” i never remember you laughing”. That was like being stuck with a poker listening to that. Yes, I laugh a lot with my husband – we have a lot of funny moments and stories together but I just dont think I have taken the time to actually laugh and share laughter with my children. OUCH! Doesn’t hurt?! …Note to self… Laugh more with your own kids!

OK so if you have not seen this movie, grab your comfort food and a nice cold can of Coke and your tissues of course and enjoy watching this movie. Then after you do that, leave me a comment to tell me what you thought about it. If you did not cry then that just means I am just an emotional nut case – and I am ok with that :)

P.S I Love You!

Meet our new addition to our family. Bruno :) Isn’t he just the cutest??!!! And so far he is a pretty good dog.

Not too long ago, our dog, Duke, who came to us as a blessing, left just as fast as he came into our lives. After he passed away and getting no where with hubby on getting a cat, this is as close as I will get to one. Which works out good. No cat box to clean, no cat scratches, and a pet that is dependable and loving no matter what happens.

For the first couple days he cried at night and I realized how much I really REALLY liked my sleep, but now he figured out to go to the kids room and wake them up instead. Already a well trained dog :)

Anywho, just wanted to share our new addition.. Bruno.

Hello, My name is Jackie and I am a PW addict.

I did it! I confess!! I am addicted to Pioneer Woman Blog http://thepioneerwoman.com/
and what is funny is that I am not alone. So you can literally waste your whole day away just by reading your stuff. I am in the middle of reading her love story and its so hard to put the computer away to get back to the real messy world of motherhood and laundry.

A looong time ago, i used to do this thing called COOKING. I was pretty good at it. Then it seemed as if it just disappeared… hmm so maybe I was never all that good at cooking, but I have been missing it! But thanks to miss Ree, she made me dust off my apron and start some cooking!!
After drooling all over her recipes that has photos with them ( very important to have the pictures of the food) I decided its time to get my hands dirty. Today, I braved the oven and some neglected kitchen tools and made her Twice Baked Potatoes.. OH MY!! they are sooooo good. Now, because I am the picky eater, I substituted the sour cream for mayo and its still too good. After eating 4 pieces, I began to hear that guilty annoying voice in my hips and tummy, telling me to stop eating. Dang those voices!!
After chatting with another victim of PW she openly shared all the recipes she had tried from her and each one was she said was awesome. Her most fave one that she said I just had to do was Ree’s Chocolate Cake…. I am SO on that!!! This week though, my next adventure is the apple desert. One of the ingredients is Mountain Dew – how awesome is that?! I will have to let you know how it comes out. If i can pull it off like she can, my MOPS moms will be feasting on them along with her flower pot yummies and her chicken wings… I am so excited..

Wish me [cooking] luck!!

I just happened to turn on the tv and Oprah was on. Mr. Tom Cruise is on, which he still looks good but with all the talk about his movies I feel the need to do nothing but watch some TOM CRUISE movies.
What is your favorite Tom Cruise movie? He has been in business for 25 years!! I hear the other celebrities say that he is truly a nice guy. But is he really?? I would love to meet Katie and have a good ‘ol fashion N. Idaho BBQ with them.

OK so I am not the fastest person to update things. It seems it gets harder and harder each day with three kids, but with a healthy dose of yummy – melt in your mouth chocolate, things do get (a little) better.

So at the baby fair this year I did a baby contest from previous sessions from the beginning of the year to April. It was to kick off the Tiny Tots and Big Kid Shots photo contest that is going on now till June.

I finally got the chance to tally all the votes and gather prizes.

So drumroll please………………………………………………………………………..

First Place: Baby Cruz. This touching image of baby and daddy won top votes.

Congratulations guys! You – mommy- won a personalized small purse.

Second Place: Princess T. She had LOTS of personality! This beautiful baby’s momma won a personalized mug filled with goodies.

Third Place: None other than this years Baby Your Baby fair model. Mr. Jasper!! I guess the people couldn’t get enough of those big blue eyes. Mom- you won a 16×20 print for your home.

Congratulations to you all. The whole contest was very close and I thank you all who voted. Again to remind you, the Tiny Tots and Big Kid Shots is running till June. It is a national contest with big prizes, so if you are interested make sure you come in for your session ($30 session fee per child) before it ends.

On another note.

Happy Birthday to me!!!! Today I turned a whopping 29. To some it may not seem like a big number but to me….. it’s a tapping on my shoulder of 30. I of course like to fully celebrate my birthday as much as I can and I hope to be able to this whole weekend. As far as the gifts I rounded up this year, my sweetness got me a new baby. No, not a REAL baby- we are still trying for that, but the other “baby”. A new camera. This is the MACK DADDY camera for me. I surely don’t need to lift weights either – because this bad boy is HEAVY. And I loves my new camera. I got to break it in a little this past week with a return cutie of mine – wait till you see those pictures- but next weekend is a big wedding so we will get to see how well it does its magicJ My other gifts… I went shoe shopping. Well I technically went shopping for my daughter but couldn’t resist the BOGO and finding what I liked was no problem at all. The problem will be more of what to wear with them too cute shoes. Gosh, I love shoes.

Ok so back to the reason why I was sharing this… because its my BIRTHDAY, I wanted to give a gift to you all.

For a VERY limited time:

20×30 ( my fave size) are on sale for $40

16×20 on sale for $30

This is a printing sale thru the printing lab and I have no idea when it will end. So if you want to grab this opportunity I would jump on it. What a great mothers day gift!

Well, I need my beauty sleep ( just kidding. Don’t think there is enough sleep to make that happen) but I have a milky way and a coke that seems to be whispering my name.
