The Best Weekend EVER – WOMEN OF FAITH
So last weekend I had the chance to attend the Women Of Faith Conference in Spokane. I am SO glad that I went.
I am sure I could go on forever and ever about it, but I will try to keep it simple.
I got to go with some friends from MOPS – we have now deemed ourselves “porch pals” and girls, thank you so much for being with me that weekend. I had a wonderful time and feel so blessed that I was able to have this experience with you all.
The speakers that were there were so inspirational and so touching. I really wish I could have recorded it all so that I could play it over and over again. If I could remember a WHOLE story, I would share it with you. But since I have the habit of remembering bits and pieces – you would jsut thank me for not even trying. I will have to say again – it was amazing. Who would imagine that a weekend that was so emotional would be so wonderful.
My fave speaker – Anita Renfroe – http://www.anitarenfroe.com/ was there with new material and OHMIGAWD she was awesome. She reminded us that everyone uses the excuse of issues or problems due to hormones so she had come up with a new excuses. Now we can just blame our issues on our Thyroid
I HIGHLY encourage you to find her books, CD, DVDs anything and read or watch them . She will have you rolling and laughing. I Love you Anita!!!!
Another speaker who had touched my heart and my soul was Sandi Patty. Now if you grew up in a Christian household, then you know who she is. But if you are like me and have no idea, she is an incredible Christian artist. She has a new book called LAYERS. Its about how we go thru life building layers on ourselves to the point where we are no longer recongizable anymore. She started talking about how she was sexually abused as a little girl and how that sweet child was changed. For those of me who don’t know me very well, I too was sexually abused as a child for 11 years by my blood father. I knew exactly what she was saying. I thought I had it all behind me and thought that I was healed. After listening to her speak I realized that I still had a LOT of layers to get off. She made me realize that I am beautiful and I no longer need to hide or cover up. I am Beautiful!!! After thinking more about my life, I wonder if the reason why I really enjoy the fantasy world is because that is where I would go to escape all the pain and hurt.
If you get a chance check out her site http://www.sandipatty.com/index.php.
One lady that had me cracking up as well, was this tiny spitfire of a woman – Patsy Clairmont. OhMY! She was so funny. She gave a wonderful speech about our emotions and feelings. She showed our emotions like a jumbled bunch of rubber bands. Her speech was amazing as well. One story that was awesome was how she was “editing’ – EDITING is DIETING scrambled up {editing sounds better than dieting} and she was going to feast on those round little rice cakes that looks more like a Styrofoam disc… a friend of hers told her they are better toasted, so she decided to toast it but got impatient waiting for it so decided to go make her bed – which by the way she needed a running start to jump on it to make it!!! ok if you could have seen this woman running around the stage and motioning the fact of her jumping up those bed stairs just to get on top of her bed – it was great! Well she went on about how she had to fix the covers and then started to smell something – when she realized it was her Styrofoam burning. She ran into the kitchen to see her toaster ON FIRE!!! Hehehehe this is what she said: “OH!” “NO”
“STOP”!!! then she unplugged and ran around the kitchen trying to figure out what to do with the burning toaster. After throwing it in the sink she went back to examine the damage. Oh man, i could try to keep remembering pieces but it would really be better if you just went yourself and hear them talk. Women of Faith will be doing an Alaskan Cruise in june. I WISH I could go again, so I urge anyone to make it a POINT to go to the conference. If there is no way you can do it this year, you HAVE to do it next year. Make it a girls weekend, go with your mom, or go by yourself, what ever you wanna do – just do it!!
I could keep going and going but it would just be better if once again – YOU GO!!!! http://www.womenoffaith.com/default.asp
Ok ya’ll.. I know the weather has not been great, but I am itching to do some outdoor photos.. Anyone interested??
I would really like to get a hold of someone that is really fashionable and fun. Lets do some urban stuff downtown and in some fields ( that don’t have snow in them anymore- maybe)
if you are interested, email me or call me. Lets get out and have some photo fun!!
Well the weekend is finally over and so is the nice weather. If you missed the baby fair on Saturday, it was a lot fun. We had great vendors and good traffic throughout the whole day. One of the best parts of the Baby Fair, was the cutest fashion show from Fairytales. All the kids were super cute and did a great job!! I am trying to get photos to share with everyone – since I, the photographer, left my camera at home, I will have to beg someone that remembered
At my table, I was having a child contest – which confused some people thinking that I was there to actually take pictures. Since the studio in the mall does that already, there is no way to be able to do that plus its a lot of time that I just did not have.
But what I did do was collect some images from the beginning of this year in 4 categorizes; Newborn, 3 month, 6 month and 2 years & older. It was really hard picking the images that were chosen and even more difficult for visitors to vote on their favorites.
But the votes are in and counted for and as soon as I can get my computers to network, I will be posting the images and as well as the prizes. So please check back soon.
Also on the next post will be the info for the 2nd part of the photo contest –
Tiny Tots & Big Kid Shots.
