Today’s
Newborn Session

I got to meet another great family today. Meet Mr. C! He was great. Slept almost the whole time and let me move him around a few more times. He was a doll. I really enjoyed this session and hope to see more of him!

I received a great email this evening from a client looong ago. I had the pleasure of doing her maternity pictures. She since then has started her own (beautiful) photography business. I am so proud and happy for her and wish her the best of luck of success to come :)
~ Great job Keri!

A Recent Session

Sweet Sweet, Miss T. This lil cutie is one of my regulars on the Baby Plan. This weekend we got to do her 6month photos. I could have kept shooting her all day. Just too cute and so smiley, BUT… when she is done – she is done!! I hope you all enjoy her photos as much as I do :)

Today’s big news…..

Yesterday was Christopher’s first day of speech therapy – as they played cars, ball, house and lots of other fun things, our therapist started teaching him sign language to help with his frustrations. He has been getting so angry trying to tell us what he wants which usually ends up with him hitting, biting, screaming and throwing fits. It has been insane. So he learned yesterday “please” and “more”. Yesterday he watched but gave us the look like, “I don’t care what you are doing” and went on his own way. Today I was repeating signs whenever needed and at first he would say “please” by rubbing MY tummy and finally this afternoon he started doing it himself. It is so cute seeing a little one sign. On top of that he was trying to say the word :) I am so proud of him.

We are suppose to go twice a week, I can only pray that he picks it up all so fast.

A Recent Session

I had the pleasure of meeting a new family over the weekend that was just so wonderful!! This is their new bundle of joy. When he got to the studio he was all nice and sleepy but decided to change his mind once he got all undressed :) I had a lot of fun with this family and I was the only one that got away with no messes – on me!

BUGS!!!

OHMIGAWD!!! We have carpenter ants. Let me tell you that I am so itchy from just looking at those nasty beasts. If you have never seen one, they are BIG ants with wings – BIG enough that you can put a saddle on them!!!

Ok so I want them GONE. Like FOREVER gone. We have 3 options. Bomb – which works for an instant but good chance of them coming back in bigger groups. SPRAY – great idea just spendy. So do we charge a credit card that I really don’t want to charge up or the last thing we can do …we can actually move but I really like where I am and that is EVEN more expensive. So we are left with PRAYER. Prayer is powerful!! And cheap too :) So, I am asking everyone to please pray with me that the Lord will persuade those pesky icky nasty bugs to a different location – OUTSIDE and AWAY from our house. AMEN!!!

I really dont like these bugs. I slept on the couch last night because I could not stop thinking about them (they are in our room) and every time I think about them I start itching – YUCK!!!

Have you had carpenter ants? If so how did you get rid of them?

I am HORRIBLE!!!

So yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting another local photographer – Andrea from Naples. We had a great time having lunch, walking Sandpoint, doing a little prop shopping… when I realized that I forgot my daughter. She was due to get off the bus in 10 minutes and i am ALL the way in town. I quickly uninterrupted poor Andrea from talking and proceeded to quickly get home. I realized that I had two cars parked pretty much on on bumpers, I had no phone to call anyone to get my daughter and I starting freaking out at that moment. Finally with about 6 attempts to pull out of my spot, I rushed to Charley’s work to call my SIL in hopes that she would meet my daughter at home before the bus got there. So I rushed home beating myself that I forgot that it was early release and I forgot my daughter. If no one was home when she was to get there…. well let’s just say that she is my DRAMA Queen!! I kept thinking to myself… ” I forgot my daughter – on her birthday” i felt like the worlds worst mom!!

When I got home, my SIL was there and all was ok. I was grateful! We then that night celebrated her birthday with her request of Top Ramen Noodles – weird and opened presents. She closed the night by watching her new Hannah Montana Video- which I have to admit that I watched it too – AND laughed. ( You might also catch me dancing along to her CD, but don’t tell anyone:) She seemed to have a good birthday!

This morning, my daughter asked me if she had any more presents to open since today was her real birthday. Of course I replied, “No silly! Yesterday was your birthday and no I have no more presents”. She gave me this confused look and then went back to her eating while I pondered over my coffee, trying to remember was it really today or was it yesterday. I was trying to think back so hard when I finally decided to just go find her birth certificate. Well, what do ya know?! Holly Monkees, her birthday IS today. So that confirmed my mothering status to poor again.
I could not believe that I forgot what my daughters birthday was. You would think that a painful event like her birth would make me remember the exact day and time, but NOPE. I felt so bad and had to come apologize to her.

So I would like to know from you other moms, have you ever forgotten your child’s birthday??? (Please dont let me be alone on this one!!)

A Little Personal..

So today during my quiet shower, it came to me that it was March. My daughters birthday is just a day away but it also reminded me of what was suppose to happen this month. A new baby. At that moment I had a rush of emotions and just a moment of confusion. I feel MOST of the time that I am OK with the fact that I miscarried and I also understand that it happens for good reason. But I could not stop thinking for a moment that this month we were suppose to be bringing home a new bundle of joy. I caught my heart sank for a second on the ‘why’s’ or ‘how come we aren’t getting pregnant now’ and so many other thoughts. At that last moment I felt a rush come over me like I was being hugged with the reminder that it just is not my time right now. And its so true too. We are getting ready to start home schooling my daughter (Lord, help me with that!!) and I have a full book of weddings this summer as well as being a mom and all the other things. The last thing I need right now or this summer, is to become close friends with the toilet. We just have to wait our turn and just have fun practicing :)
For anyone who has experienced a miscarriage, my heart goes to you. There are so many feelings and thoughts that still can consume you. I had no idea that it would…… So in celebration of LIFE, I plan to have an enjoyable March!
